Working Alley w/ Headgate & Preg Panels
Easily adaptable for connection to any crowding system, the WAI-1 is the perfect option for applications that require a short working alley with a headgate and access for AI or palpation work. This working alley features Priefert’s Model 91 Headgate, which is designed to work in manual or automatic mode, and Priefert Premier Alley Panels. The WAI-1 also includes our Headgate Stand to securely mount the HG91 to the working alley and a “no-back” Alley Stop to prevent cattle from backing out of the alley. A Premier Preg Panel offers secure access to the back of your animals for AI work. This system is ideal for small operations but can be easily expanded upon to accommodate larger herd sizes.
Features
The WAI-1 is easily adaptable to work with any permanent or portable corral system and is perfect for applications that require a short alley with a headcatch at the end. The Preg Panel also gives you the option of using this alley for AI and palpation work.
Model 91 Headgate operates in manual or automatic catch mode. Simply engage the automatic catch feature by moving the auto-catch lever forward to activate the spring. When in automatic mode, set the self-catch lever on the front of the headgate to select one of 4 opening widths.
The yokes (or sides) of the headgate are contoured to fit securely around the neck of the animal, and the patented Infinite Locking System (guaranteed for life) allows for a perfect fit for every size animal with no adjustments necessary.
HG91 is reversible to allow right or left-handed operation.
Our Headgate Stand allows to you easily mount the HG91 to the end of the working alley and is designed so that it pins directly to the Premier Alley Panels.
Three Premier Alley Panels and a Premier Preg Panels create the 16’ long alley. “Tough Enough for Cattle, Safe Enough for Horses,” these are part of our number one selling cattle panel line and are constructed from our patented Quadraform™ tubing to allow for maximum strength and flexibility.
The Premier Preg Panel makes it easy to gain secure access to palpate or AI cattle. Simply open the gate and lock it into place to block the lead up alley.
Two powder-coated Alley Frames help maintain the strength and support of the 28” wide alley.
With no tools required, the effective height of the “no-back” Alley Stop can be quickly set to prevent the backing of bulls, cows, and calves.
Headgate Stand, Premier Alley Panels, Preg Panel, Alley Frames, and Alley Stop feature an Architectural Grade Powder Coat Finish with UV inhibitors to add years of life to your investment by helping these products resist rust, scratches and fading.
For maximum stability, we recommend driving T-Posts on the outside of the alley at the rear corners of the headgate stand and securing the stand to the T-Posts.
